Mastering Fear, a Navy SEAL's Guide

by Brandon Webb and John David Mann

Written by a Navy Seal, this book is jam-packed with epic stories about conquering fear as child and as an adult.

Can't Hurt Me - Master Your Mind and Defy the Odds

by David Goggins

Talk about the ultimate underdog story.

The book will fire you UP!

When you are down and want to give up, know that you actually have 40% left in the tank - mentally and physically. Goggins is a machine - from abused child to Navy SEAL who's accomplished several Ultra marathons, an Iron Man, and a Guinness World record for most Pull-ups. Do the audible version of this book, there's a commentary section that's pretty fun. And follow his Instagram. I think he was made famous by Jesse Itzler's book, "Living with a SEAL" - suuuper entertaining!

The Mastery of Love

by Don Miguel Ruiz

Written by the author of, 'The Four Agreements', this book has beautiful messages about the unique ways we perceive and receive love.

Relentless - from Good to Great to Unstoppable

by Tim Grover

His first client was the legendary Micheal Jordan. He went on to train him for 15 years after his first meeting. His client list now includes NBA's Charles Barkley, Kobe Bryant, and Dwayne Wade. This book separates the mentality of a 'cooler', 'closer', and a 'cleaner'. It gives you an insight to Jordan's unstoppable 'win-at-all-cost' nature.

The 5 Love Languages

by Gary Chapman

recommend this to everyone. It should be taught in schools - starting in primary school. This book opened my eyes to a deeper understanding of how each one of us chooses to express and receive love. These can be categorized as Quality Time, Physical Touch, Words of Affirmation, Receiving Gifts, and Acts of Service. You can also take a quiz (online or with the book) to see which is your preferred expression of love.

The Happy Body

by Aniela & Jerzy Gregorek

This book is a MUST if you're on a weightloss journey. It is a tool! I gained weight and I wasn't operating the way I wanted to - physically, mentally or emotionally. I was lucky enough to sign up to weekly courses with Jerzy from the start of the COVID-19 pandemic and got introduced to the book at the same time and BAM - game changer. I learned about my body type, how to measure my body fat and muscle composition and how to get lean and strong. You'll also learn about 'microprogression' and how to measure all of your goals to see the progress. Since reading the book, I've lost 4 lbs in 5 weeks. He and his wife train Tim Ferriss and Naval Ravikant and other celebs.

When Breath Becomes Air

by Paul Kalanithi

This memoir was intense, heartbreaking and beautifully poetic. It gave me chills. It made me cry. I even had to put down several times as I rode the Caltrain from San Francisco to Mountain View on my way to work because I would start to tear up in public. When asked 'why would you read that?' and 'how can you enjoy it?' I would say, 'Because it's the type of book that gives you an existential crisis. It gives you the opportunity to answer, 'where you are going in life and what matters most' and 'if you died tomorrow, would it have all been worth it' - we all need that time to time - a moment to check in with yourself.
